Bhubaneswar: A shocking incident of patricide has come to light in Kurumunda village of Nuapada district in Odisha. A son, identified as Tularam Bariha (36), allegedly killed his father, Pavan Singh Bariha (60), over a trivial matter of land dispute. The incident took place when Tularam, under the influence of intoxication, attacked his father with a wooden plank in a farmland.
On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem with detaining the accused son. Nuapada SP G.R. Raghavendra visited the scene and conducted an investigation. According to the initial investigation, the son allegedly killed his father over a land dispute. Further investigation is underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police have informed that they are looking into all aspects of the case and will take necessary action based on the findings of the investigation.
