Bargarh: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old man of Kumbhari village under Barpalli police jurisdiction in Bargarh district brutally killed his 60-year-old mother by slitting her throat with a blade today.
The accused identified as Bidyadhar Sahu has been arrested by Barpalli police.
According to reports, 32-year-old Bidyadhar used to live with his 60-year-old widowed mother Kosala Sahu in a house in front of the State Bank of India branch at Bandhapada of Kumbhari village.
Today around noon the two had a spat on some issue and in a fit of rage Bidyadhar repeatedly slashed his mother Kosala’s throat with a blade.
As Kosala cried aloud in pain, Bidyadhar packed his profusely bleeding mother in a sack and threw away the blade.
On being informed, Barpalli police rushed to the spot and after taking Bidyadhar into custody and have sent Kosala’s body for post mortem.
Villagers are of the opinion that Bidyadhar is of an unstable mind.
