Bhubaneswar: In a brutal incident, a man, identified as Irfan Khan (35), allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat at Dighal Slum under Nimapada police limits in Odisha’s Puri district.
Sources said that Irfan often thrashed his wife Baharun Bibi (26) after consuming liquor and this led to heated arguments between the two. A similar situation occurred on Sunday night after Irfan returned home in an inebriated state. Soon, the matter took a violent turn and he allegedly slit Baharun Bibi’s throat with a blade. The woman bled profusely and died on the spot.
Locals nabbed Irfan and informed the police about the incident. Police recovered the body of the woman and sent it for post-mortem. Irfan has been detained for interrogation.
