Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife over her failure to cook egg curry for lunch at Bandhasahi village under Udala police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Lama Baske.
According to reports, Lama Baske returned home from work around noon and discovered that his wife, Basanti Baske, had not prepared the egg curry he had brought earlier. Instead, she served him rice with a different curry, which triggered a heated argument between the couple.
The altercation turned violent when Lama allegedly assaulted Basanti in front of their house. He then dragged her inside and reportedly struck her repeatedly on the head with a steel vent pipe, resulting in her immediate death.
Following a tip-off, Udala police reached the village, seized the body, and arrested the accused.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
