Bhubaneswar: A man was looted of Rs 75,000 after taking a lift from Bhubaneswar to his hometown in Kendrapara. A complaint in this regard has been lodged by the victim at Saheed Nagar Police Station.
Reportedly on February 1, the complainant identified as Biren Parida had returned from Bengaluru to Bhubaneswar and was waiting for a ride to reach his home at Rajkanika in Kendrapara district.
After a few minutes, a car arrived at the spot with some persons and they offered him a lift. Later on the way, they also offered him a sedative-laced flavoured drink.
As he fell unconscious after consuming the drink, the miscreants looted the money and dropped Biren near Chhatia. After regaining his consciousness he managed to reach Bhubaneswar and lodged a complaint in this regard.
