Deogarh: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his father and concealed the body in a pit near their house in Jambunali village under Kundheigola police station limits of Deogarh district. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Dukhu Kisan (53).
According to reports, the crime occurred on Tuesday night when Dukhu, reportedly in an inebriated state, returned home and had a heated argument with his father, Budhu Kisan. In a fit of rage, Dukhu attacked him with an axe, killing him on the spot.
In an attempt to hide the crime, Dukhu dragged the body about 20 metres from the house and buried it in a pit, covering it with palm leaves. For two days, the murder remained undiscovered.
The matter came to light when Dukhu’s wife and mother, who were away during the incident, returned home and found Budhu missing.
Dukhu allegedly told them that his father had gone to another village. However, they grew suspicious after noticing bloodstains in the house.
On Thursday a search in the nearby area led to the gruesome discovery of the body.
They immediately alerted the police, who reached the spot, recovered the body and arrested Dukhu. Police have seized the body and sent for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway.
