Sundergarh: The district police on Wednesday arrested the father of Koida BDO Pallavi Rani Raj on charges of assaulting her. The Brother of the BDO, involved in the attack is absconding.
According to reports, on Tuesday night at around 10 pm, her father and brother showed up at her residence and attacked her. When an Assistant Engineer came to her rescue, he was also roughed up by the father-son duo, the complaint stated. They have sustained injuries.
The duo went to the police station and filed a complaint against her father and brother following which her father Ramesh Raj was arrested. Meanwhile, her brother Sangram Raj is on the run.
The BDO and Assistant Engineer Abhishek Panigrahi have been admitted to the Koida hospital for treatment. Raj has been referred to Rourkela Government Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical & College and Hospital in Cuttack.
