Bhubaneswar: Tamando police have arrested an imposter for allegedly duping gullible people by introducing himself as an officer of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The accused who happens to be a Person with Disability (PwD) has been identified as Nikhil Swain.
Swain has allegedly defrauded a shopkeeper selling mobile phones of Rs 30,000 on the pretext of arranging medical treatment for his daughter.
He has also allegedly cheated Rs 40,000 from another person of the airport area under the pretext of providing him with a job in the Lok Seba Bhawan.
Following such complaints police launched investigations which lead to Swain’s arrest.
Swain was later forwarded to court.
