Bhubaneswar: A man donning multiple fake hats in order to dupe job aspirants has been arrested by the Twin City police. The accused identified as Ranjan Kumar Nayak of Balikuda in Cuttack was arrested on Friday by Pahala police following a raid on his hideout.
The police acted on the basis of two complaints in which Nayak had taken Rs 17 lakh from two youths for facilitating the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) job at Orissa High Court. Investigation revealed that he has trapped several youths from western and southern Odisha districts, alluring them with back door entry for Government jobs.
According to the police, Nayak posed as a police inspector, IB official, and also at times as a doctor to befool gullible youths. police uniform, doctor’s apron, a stethoscope, forged ID cards and other incriminating items have been seized from his apartment where he used to stay on rent at Pahala.
