Khurda: A man was nabbed by officials of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) for pulling out a gun on his wife and fellow passengers on a train running from Puri to Sambalpur on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Somnath Padhi (38), a native of Saru village in Ganjam district, presently residing in Rourkela. He along with his family were travelling in the said train when an argument broke between him and his wife.
Amidst the heated exchange of words, Somnath pulled out a country-made pistol on his wife. When fellow passengers tried to resolve with him, he also threatened them with the weapon.
Following it, some RPF and GRP officials arrived at the spot and overpowered him. They later handed him over at the Government Railway Police Station, Khurda. A country-made pistol, three live bullets and two mobile phones have been seized from his possession.
