Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested on Monday for the atrocious act of killing four stray puppies when he ran over his car on them.
The Police acted based on a First Information Report (FIR) filed by People For Animals; a locally registered animal welfare organization.
The unfortunate incident occurred at about 11.45 am on Sunday at Sailashree Vihar area of the Capital. One Kanhu Charan Giri, who is a driver of a transportation network company, was arrested today.
Kanhu allegedly ran over the innocent puppies with his car in front of one Highland Residence here. The eyewitnesses in the case- a security guard on duty and a resident of Highland Residence tried to stop the car, mentions the FIR. However, the eyewitnesses claim that the accused driver sped away and fled.
They then contacted People For Animals. The organisation’s secretary Jiban Das rushed to the spot and found the puppies already dead.
