Nuapada: Boden police have arrested a man and his second wife on charges of murdering the former’s first wife.
Police said that the death of a woman in Jamgaon village was reported at Boden police station on Monday.
Following an investigation by the police it was found that Hembram Jagat of Jamgaon village had married two women—Baruni Jagat and Madhuri Dei.
The two women used to often quarrel with each other.
“On August 2 following a quarrel Hembram’s second wife Madhuri Dei hit the former’s first wife-Baruni Jagat’s head with a steel bucket resulting in a deep bleeding wound. Despite undergoing treatment Baruni died on August 5. We have arrested Hembram and Madhuri and they will be forwarded to court today,” informed Khariar SDPO Abhisek Arup Behera.
