Athgarh(Cuttack): Athgarh police on Wednesday arrested a woman and her husband for allegedly torturing her stepchildren.

They were rescued by the neighbours and hospitalised at the Sub Divisional Hospital here.

“After receiving a complaint on October 31 from the mother of the children we registered a case yesterday under sections 342,294,323,325,307,506 & 34 IPC. Today we have arrested the stepmother Puspalata Nanda and her husband Sunil Kumar Nanda,” informed Aniruddha Muduli,IIC, Athgarh Police Station.
