Bargarh: A Special POCSO Court in Bargah on Monday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping his 12-year-old daughter. The court also ordered the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) to provide ₹10 lakh as compensation to the victim to aid her recovery and rehabilitation.
The case, registered on February 22, 2020, at Bargarh Town Police Station, involved heinous charges against the accused, who was found guilty under IPC Sections 376(AB) (rape of a minor under 12), 376(2N) (repeated rape), 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
