Bhadrak: Bhadrak District & Sessions Court on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to a man for murdering his wife in 2019.
Bhadrak District Judge Pradyumna Kumar Nayak sentenced Prahallad Das of Khadala Pokhari village under Bansda police limits to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife Rashmita in 2019.
The Judge imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Prahallad in addition to the sentence.
On failure to pay the fine amount Prahallad has to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) of six months.
According to details of the case, Prahallad who was practicing ‘tantra’ had sacrificed his wife Rashmita by slitting her throat with a scythe while she was sleeping in her bedroom on January 23 in 2019.
