Bhubaneswar: A person, who was set ablaze by his father at Barsinga village under Barang police limits in Cuttack district over a monetary dispute, died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Dinabandhu Rout, a resident of the Baranga area in Cuttack district.
The accused Govardhan Rout poured petrol on his son Dinabandhu and daughter-in-law Sasmita and set them on fire after a heated argument over a monetary dispute.
Dinabandhu’s wife who had also suffered severe burn injuries in the incident succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. The couple’s four-year-old son has been left orphaned following the tragic mishap.
The police have arrested Govardhan Rout and are investigating the matter.
