Jagatsinghpur: A man allegedly slit his wife’s throat in front of a gathering at a local temple during a meeting which was called to resolve a dispute between the couple. The incident took place at Nandakeswar Shiva shrine under Naugaon police limits in Jagatsinghpur, on Wednesday.
As per reports, the accused identified as Prakash Senapati attacked his wife Padmini with a sharp blade, leaving her critically injured.
The couple, residents of Ichhapur village under Balikuda police station, had been summoned to the temple to resolve a dispute between them. However, in a shocking turn of events, Prakash attacked his wife with a sharp blade, leaving her critically injured.
However, the villagers promptly intervened, apprehending her husband and rushed Padmini to the Naugaon Community Health Centre via a 108 ambulance.
Upon being informed, Naugaon police reached the scene, took Prakash into custody and initiated an investigation.
