Baripada: A shocking case of domestic violence turned fatal in Chaulaghori village under Bangiriposhi police station limits, Mayurbhanj district, where a woman was allegedly murdered by her husband during a quarrel on Tuesday night.
The accused, identified as Bir Singh (40), reportedly had an argument with his wife Meena Singh (30) over a domestic issue. In a fit of rage, he attacked her with a stone and a stick, leading to her instant death. Police said the victim sustained grievous injuries on her head, cheeks, and body.
Following the crime, Bir allegedly attempted to conceal the body. However, the incident came to light soon after, prompting the police and a scientific team to rush to the spot and begin an investigation.
Bir Singh, along with his mother and sister, have been detained in connection with the case. The body of the deceased was sent to Baripada on Wednesday evening for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
