Bargarh: A family dispute turned fatal as a man was allegedly stabbed to death by his brother-in-law at Mangala Jhupudi in Ward No. 11 of Bargarh district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Das, while the accused is Nipun, who is currently on the run.
As per reports, a heated argument broke out between Shankar and his wife over a family issue. Nipun, angered by the situation, intervened and attacked Shankar with a knife, stabbing him in the chest. Shankar collapsed, bleeding profusely, and screamed for help.
Hearing the commotion, Shankar’s wife alerted neighbors, who rushed him to the hospital. However, he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
On receiving information, the Bargarh Town Police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. The accused fled the spot immediately after the incident, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him.
