Rayagada: In a fit of anger, a man allegedly stabbed his wife during a family dispute injuring her critically on Sunday morning. The incident has been reported from Nadi Sahi village in Odisha’s Rayagada district.
The woman has been identified as Basanti Behera and has been admitted to the Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition. The accused husband Pradeep Behera is said to be absconding since the incident.
According to the complaint lodged by Basanti with the police, her husband Pradeep and she got into a fight in their house this morning. The argument turned ugly when Pradeep took out a knife and stabbed his wife. Soon he fled home to avoid arrest.
Hearing the commotion, neighbours reached the spot and rescued Basanti, and admitted her to Rayagada DHH. On being informed, police reached the health center and launched an investigation into the incident.
Till the time of writing this report, police were unable to trace the whereabouts of Pradeep.
