Balasore: In a shocking incident, a person allegedly killed his wife by beheading her while she was sleeping at their home in Takuapala village under Raiabania police limits in Balasore district on late Thursday night.
The accused husband, Chandra Mohan Patra, reportedly surrendered to the Raiabania police after committing the gruesome murder.
The deceased has been identified as Jayanti Patra, and the motive behind the murder is still unclear.
However, sources suggest that the killing may have been triggered by a domestic dispute.
Upon being informed, Raiabania police and Jaleswar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) have reached the crime scene and are conducting further investigation.
Meanwhile, police are interrogating the accused husband to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the murder.
