Baripada: In a horrific incident, a man from Patsila village under Bangriposi police limits in Mayurbhanj district strangled his 60-year-old mother to death suspecting her to be a witch. The man surrendered before the police.
According to reports, late in the night on Wednesday a drunken Gajendra Murmu of Patsila village under Bangriposi police limits had a quarrel with his mother 60-year-old Karmi Murmu. Gajendra abused his mother suspecting her to be a witch.
The two got into a heated argument, an angry Gajendra first beat his mother and later strangled her throat leading to the 60-year-old’s death.
After killing his mother Gajendra surrendered before the police. Police have seized the body and have sent it for the conduct of post-mortem. A scientific team of the police is gathering evidence from the spot.
