Bhubaneswar: A man was tragically trampled to death by an elephant in Amalipali village under Sambalpur forest range late Monday night.
The deceased, identified as Sota Munda, was burning wood to protect himself from the cold breezes when the elephant suddenly attacked him.
As per the reports, Sota Munda tried to flee from the scene, but the elephant trampled him, causing fatal injuries. He died at the spot.
Upon receiving information, forest officials arrived at the location and sent Sota’s body to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) for post-mortem.
The tragic incident has left his family in deep grief.
