Hit-And-Run Accident In Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: A man and his wife were killed and their 4-year-old son sustained injuries in a hit-and-run accident near the old tollgate under Panikoili police station in Jajpur district on Saturday.

According to reports, the man, his wife, and their 4-year-old son were traveling from Kuakhia to Panikoili on a bike when an unknown vehicle suddenly struck them near the old tollgate and fled the scene.

While the 4-year-old’s mother died on the spot, the father was admitted to the Jajpur District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) with the help of locals. However, upon reaching the hospital, doctors declared him dead.

Upon receiving the information, the Panikoili police reached the spot, seized the bodies, sent them for post-mortem, and began an investigation.

The 4-year-old son has been taken into protective custody by the police and is being kept at the police station.
