Puri: In a shocking turn of events, a man who had gone for a bath on Chandrabhaga beach drowned and later his body washed ashore near Swargadwar section of the beach.
Yesterday evening, the beach lifeguards spotted a body near shore and fished it out. They immediately informed the Sea Beach police station. Upon investigation, the deceased was positively identified as Bijayabhanu Mohanty by his family.
Sea Beach police station IIC informed that Bijayabhanu was on a visit to Chandrabhaga beach in Konark. He is suspected to have drowned in the sea and later his body reached Swargadwar due to water current. His mortal remains were sent for postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
