Bhubaneswar: A Maoist camp was busted after a round of exchange of fire between the the Special Operation Group (SOG) and Maoists in Tumudibandha of Kandhamal district on Wednesday.
The encounter took place inside Sindhipangal forest when the security personnel were carrying out a combing operation. While the LWEs fled the scene, a huge cache of arms and ammunition and other incriminating articles were seized from the camp.
It is suspected that some naxals might have been injured in the encounter as blood stains were seen at the site. No security personnel was injured in the exchange of fire. Detailed information is awaited.
Combing operation has been intensified in the entire area in the aftermath of the exchange of fire, the district police informed.
