Bolangir: A joint operation by police, District Voluntary Force (DVF), and Special Operations Group (SOG) have successfully dismantled two Maoist hideouts in the Khaprakhol and Tureikela police station areas of Bolangir district.

Acting on specific information about Maoist presence in the Gandhamardan Hills and Chhatradandi forest, security forces conducted a combing operation.

During the raid, a large cache of Maoist materials was seized, including opium, Maoist flags, clothes, tents, furniture, books, wires, radios, and other items. An IED was also detonated by the jawans, Balangir SP Abhilash G said.

The SP added that the operation was successful in disrupting the Maoist activities in the area. The operation is a significant blow to the Maoist presence in the region.

“The SPs of Bolangir, Bargarh, and other districts have prepared a strategy. The DGP reviews the situation and our preparations every week through video conference. Accordingly, we are chalking out strategies to eliminate the naxals from the state completely,” said IG Himanshu Lal.
