Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, Maoists have killed a 25-year-old ‘Shiksha Doot’ (Shiksha Doot in Odisha refers to teachers working in remote and Maoist-affected areas)  in Malkangiri district on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.

The victims identified as Kallu Tati, a local education worker, had reportedly been abducted by Maoists before being brutally killed.

The incident occurred late last night when Maoists abducted Kallu from his home in Todka village, which falls under the Gangalur police station area of neighbouring Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.

According to reports, the Maoists brutally tortured Kallu before killing him.

Upon being informed, police have launched an investigation into the incident and rushed to the crime scene.

Locals allege that the killings were carried out on suspicion of police informant activity, though official confirmation from authorities is still awaited.

The incident has triggered renewed fear in the region, which has long been a hotbed of Maoist insurgency.

Police have launched a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident.
