Bhubaneswar: An exchange of fire took place between Maoists and jawans of Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Odisha police on Friday during combing operations in Gandhamardan hills under Paikmal police limits of Bargarh district.
According to an official communiqué, after the exchange of fire, following a thorough search SOG jawans busted a Maoist camp and recovered bags, clothes, food and other items left behind by the ultras. Search operation is continuing in the area under the direct supervision of ADG Ops and DG Police.
Bargarh SP Prahalad Sahai Meena is monitoring the situation, the communique added.
