Phulbani: A man was shot dead by Maoists on suspicion of being a police informer. The incident has been reported from a forest near Hatapada in Bandapipili under Kotagada police limits in Kandhamal district.
The deceased was identified as Ramesh Nayak, a native of Bandapipili village. He was picked up from his home, dragged into the forest and killed, said locals, who are in a state of terror.
The Maoists also left a poster there which reflected their intent and the cause behind the gruesome murder. They suspected the man to be a police informer for which he was murdered, reports added.
