Bhawanipatna: Maoists again made their presence felt in Kalahandi district by killing a youth over suspicion of him being a police informer.
The deceased youth has been identified as Lalbati Majhi of Panchkul village under Sadar police limits of Kalahandi district.
According to reports, yesterday night while Lalbati was sleeping in his house, he was forcibly taken away by Maoists and murdered near Katlang village.
The outlaws have left some posters at the spot where the murder took place.
In the posters, the Maoists mentioned that Lalbati was punished since he was working as a police informer. They have warned that some people from the area are working as informers for the police and will be punished soon.
The Maoists have claimed to belong to the Vamshadhara-Ghumusar- Nagavali Division of the outlawed CPI (Maoist).
Deceased Lalbati’s niece Kuni is a dreaded Maoist and it is suspected that she could be behind the former’s murder.
