Bhubaneswar: Maoists have allegedly killed a youth suspecting him to be a police informer recently in Kandhamal district.

The victim has been identified as Metala Raita, a resident of Badipanga village under Kotagad police in Kandhamal district.

According to sources, the ultras belonging to CPI (M) Bansadhara Ghumusra Nagabali Committee are alleged to have abducted Riata from his house on Saturday late night. On Monday, his body was found lying a few metres away from his residence. They left a threatening poster at the crime spot.

In the poster, the ultras confessed to have killed Raita and asked people to beg for an apology to the party if they were working as police informers. Else, they should leave the area. Otherwise, they will have to face punishment like Raita.

Meanwhile, the incident has sent shockwaves in the locality. Upon being informed, Kotagad police have seized the poster and launched an investigation into it.
