Bhubaneswar: The market building shop owners association has decided to shut the commercial complex protesting the mushrooming of makeshift vendors in the area.
The association had placed a demand before the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to evict the street vendors from the complex making it encroachment free.
However, there was no action from the civic body in this regard following which the shop owners association has called an indefinite bandh, reports stated.
According to the local businessmen, the street vendors are blocking the pathway to the market building and creating other issues in the area.
On Wednesday, the BMC has called a meeting with Commissionerate of Police officials and association members to discuss the matter.
