Married Woman ‘Gang-Raped’ In Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: A married woman has lodged an FIR at Sadar Police Station in Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district alleging she was gang-raped by three persons at a secluded place near Gobara village.

Based on the complaint, the prime accused Jhasketan Nag and his two accomplices Laxmikant Nag and Kishore Chandra Mahalik have been booked under section 376D, 394, 294, 506 and 34 of IPC and sent for medical examination.

As per the FIR, the woman’s husband, who works as a bonded labourer in Goa, had sent some money and other items in the hands of Jhasketan to give her. She had also been asked by her husband to withdraw some money from ATM with the help of the accused.

Accordingly, she went with Jhasketan to withdraw the money but the latter had already informed the other two accused about his plan and on reaching Gobara Chhak they forcibly took her to a secluded place and raped her.

While her husband is yet to return from Goa, the woman has demanded stringent action against the accused persons.
