Masked Miscreants Loot Rs 1.99 Lakh From Elderly Man In Kantabanji

Bolangir: Masked miscreants on Friday looted Rs 1.99 lakh cash from an elderly man in broad daylight in Kantabanji in Bolangir district.

According to reports, Sambaru Panika of Dangamara village under Kantabanji police limits after withdrawing Rs 1.99 lakh from the local branch of the SBI and keeping it in his bike’s dickey was returning home.

Hardly had Panika moved a little distance from the bank he was intercepted by two bike-borne miscreants who were wearing masks.

The bike-borne miscreants stopped Panika opened the dickey before forcibly taking away the bag containing the cash.

Panika has lodged a complaint at the Kantabanji police station in this connection.

Kantabanji police have launched an investigation into the incident and  is examining CCTV footage of the nearby shops.
