Bhubaneswar: A team of forest officials safely captured and released a massive 11-foot-long King Cobra back into the wild in Mayurbhanj.
The snake, weighing 6.7 kilograms, was caught inside a house at Bangra village on Monday evening.
According to Srikanta Mohanty, Range Officer of Pithabata Range, Baripada forest division, a team of experts was dispatched to the village after receiving a call. The snake was carefully rescued from the house and examined by a local veterinarian before being released into the Dukra wildlife range on Tuesday morning.
The homeowner reported that the King Cobra had entered the house while chasing a monitor lizard. The successful rescue and release operation was carried out by the forest department, ensuring the safety of both the residents and the majestic reptile, he added.
