Bhubaneswar: The Odisha High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, known as matric examination for 2026, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, concluded smoothly on Monday, March 2.
The exams, which began on February 19, 2026, were held across 3,082 examination centres state-wide, with strict monitoring measures in place, including live surveillance from a central command control room.
BSE President Srikant Tarai stated that no cases of malpractice or violations of norms were reported from anywhere in the state. “Barring some trivial issues in certain centres, the examinations concluded smoothly,” he informed.
The Board emphasized that all activities were monitored live to ensure transparency and fairness. Evaluation of the objective OMR sheets has already commenced. The evaluation of subjective papers is scheduled to begin from March 19, 2026, involving approximately 14,000 to 15,000 teachers at 51 evaluation centres across Odisha.
If the process proceeds without disruptions, the results are expected to be announced in the first or second week of May 2026.
In a student-friendly initiative, the BSE is planning to make digital certificates and marksheets available online for greater convenience. The Board has assured that the entire evaluation process will be error-free, with all necessary precautions being taken to maintain accuracy and integrity.
This year’s HSC exams saw enhanced security features, such as AI-integrated monitoring, QR codes, and watermarks on question papers, contributing to the hassle-free conduct throughout the examination period.
