Cuttack: Amidst several irregularities, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) successfully conducted the Odisha Matric Exams in March and finally published its results today. While the pass percentage is at 70.78%, many persons have raised questions regarding the problems that had occured during the exams.
In Malkangiri’s Podia High School where 108 OMR sheets had gone missing, the results have been formulated using a special formula based on the answers of the students in subjective papers.
The Board had also cancelled the English exam at Ghunsar Government High School in Bolangir, PR High School in Dhenkanal and Krupasindhu Nodal High School at Gopinathpur in Cuttack, after the question paper had gone viral. These students will appear the Supplementary Exams in June, informed Pradipta Mohapatra, Secretary of School and Mass Education Department.
He further said that all exams conducted by the BSE, except written Matric Exam, will now be held online to avoid malpractices. A secret code will also be included in the question papers next year to strengthen the surveillance.
Two control rooms have been set up by BSE for matric students for any kind of inquiry. Control room phone numbers: 0671-2412059 & 2412060.
