Mayurbhanj: The Udapa police in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district arrested a lady lecturer for allegedly appearing in an examination on behalf of a student at Udala Luipa Degree College. The concerned student abstained from appearing in the examination.
The accused teacher has been identified as Tulika Ash, a lecturer at the Odia Department of the college.
According to reports, Tulika appeared for the fourth-semester examination of the Zoology department for an absent student on July 27. Interestingly, the teacher also signed as an examination invigilator on the answer sheet.
After the bizarre incident came to the fore, the college principal Gouranga Chandra Mohapatra issued a show cause notice to the lecturer on August 8. However, instead of reply to the show cause notice, the lecturer allegedly abused the principal and threatened him of dire consequences.
Later, the principal filed a written complaint at the Udala police station in this regard. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested the lady lecturer.
