Bhubaneswar: The district administration has announced the closure of all schools, both government and private, in Mayurbhanj district today in anticipation of heavy rainfall expected in the next 12 hours.
This decision was taken in view of the red warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting heavy rainfall in the district.
Meanwhile, the administration has instructed the school headmasters to shift hostel boarders to safe, concrete rooms instead of asbestos or kachha buildings.
Besides, the headmasters have been instructed to ensure that students are prohibited from using dilapidated classrooms or buildings to prevent accidents.
This precautionary measure aims to ensure student safety amid the adverse weather forecast.
