Baripada: A chilly morning greeted the residents of Mayurbhanj district as the temperature plummeted to as low as 1°C in some places.
According to the latest weather report, Nawana recorded a minimum temperature of 5°C and a maximum temperature of 21°C, with humidity levels ranging from 84% to 85%.
The temperature in other parts of the district was also quite low, with Udala (UBK) recording 1°C, Chahala 4°C, Barehipani 6°C, Ramatirtha 10°C, Gurguria 6°C, and Kiajhari 10°C. The residents of Mayurbhanj are advised to wrap up warm and take necessary precautions to stay safe in the cold weather.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that a cold wave will continue to grip Odisha for the next 24 hours, with temperatures expected to drop significantly in several districts.
In addition to the cold wave, the IMD has warned of dense fog in several districts. Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput and Kandhamal. This could lead to reduced visibility and disrupt transportation services in these areas.
