Bhubaneswar: Are you tired of suffering from back pain due to prolonged sitting hours at work? Worry no more because 13-year-old Ayushman Nanda, a young innovator, has designed a game-changing device that alerts you to correct your sitting posture, ensuring a pain-free life.
This ingenious device is specifically designed to monitor your sitting posture and raises an alarm when you slouch or sit incorrectly. Whether you’re a student or a working professional, this device is a must-have for anyone who spends extended periods sitting in front of a computer.
Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025 witnessed investors from all over India. The conclave, organized by the state government, provided a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their startups and products. Among the startups, Ayushman’s startup stood out for its unique device.
Through his startup, Ayushman aims to address a pressing issue in the state, and his innovative solution has garnered attention from investors and industry experts.
It all began with a concern for comfort. Ayushman, a young innovator, had a peculiar habit of writing in sleeping postures. His parents, worried about the long-term effects on his health, advised him to sit up straight and adopt proper postures. This simple advice sparked an idea that would change the lives of many. Ayushman realized that countless people suffer from back pain due to poor sitting postures, and he decided to do something about it. Thus, his startup was born, with a mission to alleviate the suffering of back pain, said sources.
Moreover, Ayushman’s innovative idea caught the attention of the Education Ministry, which provided him with a grant of Rs 2 lakh to turn his concept into a reality. This financial assistance enabled him to develop his startup and create a device that would alert users to correct their sitting postures.
This innovative device can be easily placed on your book, tablet, or laptop, ensuring you maintain good posture while working or studying. If you forget to sit correctly, the device will alert you with an alarm, helping you stay vigilant and adjust your sitting style.
What’s more, after 30 minutes of correct posture, the device will remind you to take a 5-minute break, promoting a healthy work-life balance. This feature helps you avoid fatigue and reduce the risk of back pain associated with prolonged sitting.
Ayushman’s innovative idea of developing a security alert device to prevent burglary in apartments has garnered appreciation from Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida. This device, which will be attached to CCTV cameras, will raise an alarm when it detects suspicious activity, such as burglars attempting to break into a house or climb walls.
To develop this device, Ayushman plans to create software that can be integrated with CCTV cameras. This software will use motion detection technology to identify potential security threats and trigger an alarm to alert homeowners or security personnel.
