Bhubaneswar: While duty is God for Mo Bus driver Sanjay Kumar Nayak, he puts the flute at par with his parents and has been able to learn the musical instrument without any formal education in music.
It has been 17 years since Sanjay is playing the flute. While he loved to play flute bought from the village fair, his eagerness to learn the musical instrument grew after he discontinued his schooling due to poor financial condition and came from Nayagarh to Bhubaneswar.
A poster of some artists in front of Rabindra Mandap caught his attention and his inquisitiveness led him to watch performance of a flutist. From that night onwards, the flute became an important part of his life.
Hailing from Nayagarh, Sanjay has to feed a family of ten from the salary he receives. Despite all the odds, he manages to save some money to buy the flute of his dreams. While the schedule of his duty can’t accommodate his passion to learn flute, Sanjay continues his practice between whatever gaps he could find.
