Meherda Visits Soro, Simulia To Review Welfare Schemes
Soro: Commissioner-cum-Secretary in Commerce and Transport department PK Meherda was on a surprise visit to Soro and Simulia blocks.
Meherda accompanied by Balasore Collector, Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Project Director DRDA and other officials first visited Anganwadi Kendras, schools, village bazaars, paddy procurement centres(mandis), etc at Muruna, Adaa, Iswarpur, Bauripada, and Markona under Simulia block.
Meherda issued a show-cause notice to Chandrakant Debnath, the Headmaster-in-Charge of Muruna ME School in Muruna Adivasi Sahi for not adhering to dress code.
The Commissioner-cum-Secretary visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) here and took feedback from patients and their attendants on the quality of service available at the health facility.
Later, he visited the Aahaar Centre adjacent to the CHC, examined the food being served there and had his meal there like any other ordinary citizen.
Meherda had a word of praise for the quality of food being served at the Aahaar Centre.
“The food was very good. At the time we visited the Centre it was very clean and hygienic,” said Meherda speaking to reporters at the Aahaar Centre.
Senior bureaucrats have been assigned to supervise development projects and welfare schemes.
As per an order of the Planning and Convergence Department of the State government issued last month, Meherda has been allotted Balasore district for the quarter January-March 2020.
