‘Mentally Unstable’ Youth Hacks Elderly Man To Death In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: An elderly man died after he was allegedly attacked by a youth with a sharp weapon at Jamdhar village under Sadar Police limits in Jajpur district, on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Kalandi Mallick of Swapneswar village.

The accused youth, who is said to be mentally unstable, has been detained by cops.

According to sources, Kalandi was on his way to market from home when the accused Surendra Behera attacked Kalandi killing him on the spot.

Acting on a tip-off, Sadar police reached the spot and detained Surendra.

Police investigation will ascertain the reason behind hacking Kalandi to death, said sources.
