Bhubaneswar: Four places in the State today recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and above.
The western Odisha town of Titilagarh was the hottest which recorded a maximum temperature of 41.4 degrees.
The other three places that registered a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and above are Balangir (41.3), Boudh (40) and Sambalpur (40).
The seven places in the State that recorded a maximum temperature ranging between 39-40 degrees Celsius are Angul (39.1), Baripada (39.5), Jharsuguda (39.8), Sundargarh (39.0), Talcher (39.0), Bhawanipatna (39.6), Sonepur (39.2), and Nayagarh (39.0).
While Capital city Bhubaneswar registered a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius, Cuttack was cooler at 35 degrees.
The southern Odisha town of Gopalpur was the coolest at 30.7 degrees Celsius.
