Bhubaneswar: While several parts of the state witnessed short spells of heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorm, the pre-noon hours of Thursday were very hot.
The maximum temperature at 14 places in the State was more than 40 degrees Celcius. While Talcher recorded the highest of 48.2 degrees, Sambalpur occupied the second spot at 42.7.
