Bhubaneswar: The hot weather condition prevailed in the State with 12 places recording temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius and above. Boudh emerged as the hottest place, with a scorching maximum day temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius.
According to Weather Scientist Umashankar Dash, Bolangir was a close second, recording a temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius.
Other cities that experienced extremely high temperatures include Titlagarh at 39.5 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh at 39.4 degrees Celsius each, and Sambalpur at 39.3 degrees Celsius.
The mercury also soared in other parts of the state, with Baripada recording 39 degrees Celsius, Sonepur at 38.9 degrees Celsius, Bhadrak at 38.8 degrees Celsius, Hirakud at 38.7 degrees Celsius, Rourkela at 38.4 degrees Celsius, and Bhavanipatna also at 38.4 degrees Celsius.
