Bhubaneswar: The mercury has been rising gradually across Odisha amidst dense fog at several places in the state during the last 24 hours.
According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Kirei was the coldest place in the state recording a minimum temperature (nighttime temperature) of 10.6°C, while Koraput was second coldest recording a minimum temperature of 12.6°C during the last 24 hours.
The nighttime temperature in most places in Odisha rose by 2°C-3°C as people experienced a mild winter.
The minimum temperature in the capital city of Bhubaneswar was 19.1°C, while Cuttack recorded 17.0°C.
Meanwhile, dense fog covered several places in the state reducing visibility significantly. According to the IMD, the sky would remain cloudy in coastal Odisha and some places may experience light showers/rain during the day.
