Bhubaneswar: Hot, humid and uncomfortable weather continues to prevail in many parts of as the mercury will rise by up to 2 degrees Celsius in Odisha over the next three days, the weather office said on Saturday.
IMD forecast said day temperature would witness a further rise by 2°C at many places in the next two days.
According to sources, five towns such as Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Titlagarh, Boudh and Nayagarh crossed 40°C on Friday along with many other places in the interior pockets.
Mercury was also hovering at 38°C to over 39°C in 11 more towns. Bhubaneswar recorded 37.5°C.
Five places recorded above 39 degrees Celcius with Angul and Jharsuguda reporting 39.1 degrees C each.
Talcher sizzled at 39.8 degrees C while Phulbani reported 39.2. Similarly, Mercury touched 39.
The temperature will see a gradual rise by 2 Degrees C in the next 48 hours at many places over the State and no large change thereafter, the IMD said.
